We offer structured, hosted Religious Education visits to Masjid al-Noor for schools, colleges and other organisations. Visitors of every background are warmly welcome to come and learn about Islam.

The visit

What happens on a visit

Each visit is tailored to your group, but a typical school visit follows this outline.

  1. Welcome and safety briefingYour facilitator meets the group and explains how the visit will run.
  2. Tour of the facilitiesA look around the site, with an explanation of what each space is used for.
  3. Inside the mosqueA tour of the prayer hall and an explanation of its features.
  4. Observing prayerVisitors see how Muslims perform the prayer.
  5. The life of a MuslimHow faith shapes daily life, family and community.
  6. Your chosen topicWe can cover a specific topic from your syllabus — just let us know when you book.
  7. Questions and answersTime for the group to ask anything they like.

In the heart of the Dallas Road area of Lancaster, close to the city centre.

Parking and transport

Our driveway can take a minibus and/or two to three cars. It isn't usually open to the public, so your facilitator will help on the day.

There is a public pay-and-display car park next to the mosque grounds.

Coaches can't wait at the mosque, so please arrange drop-off and collection.

Accessibility

Wheelchair access is currently limited, and there is no step-free access to the main prayer hall at present.

If anyone in your group has access needs, please tell us when you book so we can prepare.

Cost

There is no charge. Contributions are entirely voluntary and gratefully received — the mosque is run on donations.
